Oil Sludge Bioremediation
Success Stories: Exxon-Mobil Aceh Oil field Project

Oily sludge materials from oil wells drilling, tank bottom, and refinery operation are headaches for managers with run-away treatment costs and eve-tighter regulations. The global warming concern discourages processors to incinerate oily sludge materials. With limited land-fill space available, one alternative is to perform bioremediation.

However, The oily sludge materials may contain uncertain amount of aromatic chemicals and increase the difficulty to do the bioremediation. Through years of field experience, we found that combining the bio-stabilizer treatment technology, the TPH (Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon) can become less hazardous to the microorganisms (microbes). After on the field inoculation, microbes can start populating in that particular harsh environment. Then, gradually convert TPH into organic nutrients, and meet customer's expectation. Ready for disposal without generating secondary pollution.

The core of bio-stabilizer treatment technology is to apply bio-neutralized agent. The bio-neutralized agent contains long-chain of hydrocarbon materials with molecular weight over 10,000. The long-chain of hydrocarbon material with the attached minerals can reduce or neutralize the toxicity of oily sludge, to allow soil-born microorganisms to grow in that particular harsh environment, and eventually convert the oily compounds (TPH) into organic form.
